I chose Warner's Granite Bay Country Day for my three children over many other preschools in our area mainly because I wanted my children to experience preschool the way it should be: learning in a fun, loving and safe environment, small classrooms, great and dedicated teachers, parents and staff, surrounded by nature, involved in taking care of animals, planting and collecting fruits and vegetables, basically playing as well as learning...where else could you get all this in a preschool setting? I found that and much more at WGBCDS and I know that the friendships my children—as well as my husband and I—have formed with the students, teachers and parents will last a lifetime. Susana Sollazzo Dear WGBCDS: (July 11, 2007) Miss Sarah, Richard and I wanted to take a moment to thank you for making our daughter’s early educational experience a fantastic journey of success! She not only grew as a learner but also as a person, and, perhaps most importantly she gained a love of acquiring knowledge. We truly attribute this to your program and professionalism. Communication between school and home and vice versa was great. Your availability at drop off and pick up every day throughout the year was very much appreciated. The weekly newsletters and e-mail reminders or updates were consistent, accurate and informative. All these avenues of communication led to great rapport and opportunity for us to be involved in our daughter’s progress. The many opportunities you provided for parent volunteerism allowed us to get a view into the classroom and helped teach us new things as well as Anna. Colorful bulletin boards, separate activity areas, different work stations and the attractive display of student work made your room a fun and engaging place. We were happy to see our child learn the concept of “line,”taking turns, kindness, and responsibility in a positive, structured manner. Last but not least, the education part—Anna learned so much:
To list a few! Richard and I also loved the culturally rich approach you took to your curriculum incorporating not only Thanksgiving, but also Hanukah, Chinese New Year and Cinco de mayo. Having a medically “delicate” child makes us dread the school experience in some ways. We felt cautiously optimistic at our first meeting and as the year ended we knew we could not have left our child in any better hands. Thank you. Sincerely, Catherine Urias Miss Barbara, I just wanted you to know how fortunate I feel to have Isabella at your school and also to be able to serve as a room mother. I appreciate the time you spend talking to me about my concerns/questions regarding Isabella. During this important time of her life she is lucky to be around such caring people. Please feel free to give me any comments or feedback regarding my role as room mother. I look forward to assisting WGBCDS in any way possible. Best Regards, Rebecca Absi Dear Barbara- We cannot tell you enough how much we have enjoyed being a part of your school family. (Year One) Dear Barbara, Thank you for providing a wonderful environment for McKenna and all the children at WGBCDS. Your school is a loving, secure and fun place for children to learn and grow. I think the social skills were the biggest changes witnessed in those little souls. As you know, leaving your child in someone else’s care is a difficult thing for many parents, but you made it easy because the kids all loved to be there.
